India's Chief of Defence Staff inaugurated an upgraded runway at Car Nicobar Air Force Station, enhancing aircraft parking, refueling, and turnaround capabilities. The upgrade allows for basing Sukhoi 30MKI jets armed with BrahMos missiles and supports heavy cargo operations. This strategic enhancement, located near the Malacca Strait, strengthens India's military posture. Additionally, India is developing a second airfield at Great Nicobar island and expanding the INS Baaz naval air base.
