An Indian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jet went missing after losing radar contact over Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Thursday evening. The aircraft had taken off from Jorhat air base and was last in contact at 7:42 pm. Search and rescue operations have been launched to locate the jet and its two pilots. Locals reported hearing a loud explosion and suspect a crash, but the IAF and Ministry of Defence have not yet confirmed this. The area is remote and difficult to access, complicating search efforts.
