
The first bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Montana was unveiled at the Mike Mansfield Centre at the University of Montana in Missoula. The bust, a gift from the Government of India, honors Gandhi's ideals of peace and non-violence and symbolizes growing ties between India and Montana. The ceremony was attended by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte, Consul General of India Prakash Gupta, state officials, university faculty and students, and members of the Montana World Affairs Council. Senator Steve Daines highlighted the importance of US-India relations in a video message.
