PMPML plans to significantly expand its bus services by adding 2,500 new buses by April-May 2026, aiming to increase its fleet to 4,000. This expansion includes introducing approximately 100 new routes, bringing the total to 494, to enhance connectivity in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the wider Pune Metropolitan Region. The initiative also focuses on reducing passenger waiting times from an average of 20 minutes to 8-10 minutes on major routes, with projections of reaching 18 lakh daily ridership and ₹4 crore in daily revenue.
