For the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections, 2,703 nomination papers were cleared after scrutiny, while 174 were rejected out of 3,059 filed. The process, which extended late into Wednesday night due to a high volume of aspirants and objections in several wards, involved hearings for discrepancies in caste certificates, affidavits, and tax payments. Elections for 165 seats across 41 wards are scheduled for January 15, with candidates from major parties and independents competing.
