The Assam government has launched several financial support schemes to promote higher education and research among youth ahead of upcoming elections. The 'Jibon Prerana' scheme offers Rs 2,500 monthly for a year to over 48,000 fresh graduates, while 'Jibon Anuprerana' provides one-time grants to research scholars. The new 'Nijut Babu Asoni' scheme extends monthly assistance to nearly 47,400 first-year male undergraduate and postgraduate students, complementing the existing 'Nijut Moina' scheme for female students. These initiatives aim to reduce dropouts, encourage innovation, and enhance skill development through advanced technology labs.
