
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, a scheme providing staged financial support to girl students from birth until graduation, totaling over Rs 1 lakh by age 21. The first phase disbursed Rs 90 crore to 30,000 girls via direct benefit transfer. Eligibility requires families to have an annual income below Rs 1.2 lakh and residency in Delhi for at least three years. The launch was part of the Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi programme, which also introduced free LPG cylinders and mobility benefits for women and transgender residents.
