Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project in Assam, which includes a 35-km elevated wildlife corridor through Kaziranga National Park and four-laning of the Kaliabor-Numaligarh section of NH-715. Designed to ensure safe animal movement and reduce human-wildlife conflict, the project aims to improve connectivity across Upper Assam and boost eco-tourism. Modi also flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains to enhance rail links between the Northeast and North India. The corridor is expected to reduce travel time by about an hour and is slated for completion within 36 months.
