The central government has allocated Rs 200 crore to Uttarakhand for mining reforms aimed at organizing the sector, enhancing environmental sensitivity, and boosting employment. These funds are intended to strengthen the state's economy and create new opportunities for local youth. Uttarakhand's Chief Secretary reviewed schemes and directed the launch of a state-level 'Pragati' initiative, similar to the central government's program, to regularly review important state and central schemes, with the first meeting planned for January 2026.
