The AIADMK has renominated senior leader M. Thambi Durai for one of Tamil Nadu's two Rajya Sabha seats it contests in the March 16 biennial election, while allotting the other seat to its ally, the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), represented by Anbumani Ramadoss. Both leaders filed their nominations on March 5, accompanied by party officials. Meanwhile, the ruling DMK and its allies, including Congress and DMDK, have also nominated candidates for the remaining four seats. The election follows seat-sharing agreements among alliances based on Assembly strength.
