Maharashtra Extends e-KYC Deadline and Initiates Physical Verification for Ladki Bahin Beneficiaries

Maharashtra's Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, which provides Rs 1,500 monthly to eligible women, faced disruptions after a confusing e-KYC question led to over 24 lakh beneficiaries being wrongly classified as government employees, halting their payments. To address this, the government extended the e-KYC deadline and deployed nearly one lakh Anganwadi workers to conduct physical verification and correct records. Technical glitches and data mismatches also affected some beneficiaries, prompting efforts to ensure aid reaches the intended recipients.
