Israeli sources report that Mohammad Pakpour, commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States amid escalating regional tensions. Pakpour had led the IRGC for about 260 days after succeeding former commander Hossein Salami and was promoted to major general by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2025. Prior to the strikes, Pakpour warned Israel and the US to avoid miscalculations. An airstrike near Khamenei's office was also reported, with the Supreme Leader reportedly moved to a secure location.
