India and Pakistan have continued their annual exchange of lists of nuclear installations and facilities, marking the 35th consecutive year under a 1988 agreement. This confidence-building measure, which prohibits attacks on each other's atomic sites, occurred simultaneously through diplomatic channels in New Delhi and Islamabad on January 1. The exchange proceeds despite deeply strained bilateral ties, including recent military hostilities. Additionally, both nations exchanged lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen held in their custody, as per a separate consular access agreement.
