
Following the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena moved its 29 newly elected corporators to the Taj Lands End hotel in Mumbai for three days amid concerns of poaching and to consolidate party unity. The BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) alliance secured a majority with 118 seats, ending Uddhav Thackeray's 25-year control. While Shinde's move aims to strengthen bargaining and prevent defections, Uddhav Thackeray's faction criticized the tactic and maintained a defiant stance despite losing control of the civic body.
