The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is preparing a Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for 2050, proposing significant expansions in public transport and road infrastructure. Plans include extending the metro rail network from about 70 km currently to over 556 km by 2050, expanding the Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) to 336 km, and introducing 29 to 48 km of dedicated Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) lanes. The roadmap also envisions extensive road network upgrades, including arterial roads and grade separators, to support metropolitan growth.
