Farmers in Vairaperumalpatti, Budalur taluk, staged a black flag demonstration on their agricultural fields to protest the non-sanction of crop loss compensation for rains in 2024. According to CPI(M) district executive committee member V. Jeevakumar, affected farmers in Vairaperumalpatti, Chithirakudi, and Maruthakudi have not received compensation despite repeated representations. The protest aims to demand compensation for their crop losses.
