The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is reportedly considering parting ways with its ally, the BJP, ahead of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections. The Shiv Sena's local unit rejected the BJP's offer of 16 out of 165 seats, deeming it an unacceptable seat-sharing formula. While the BJP had initially announced a statewide alliance for 29 municipal corporations, the Shiv Sena claims the BJP offered a disproportionately small share in Pune, leading to dissatisfaction and a potential independent contest.
