Punjab Launches Free Health Scheme Providing Rs 10 Lakh Medical Cover from January 22

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh announced the launch of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna on January 22, offering up to Rs 10 lakh cashless medical coverage per family. The government will bear all costs, including free health card issuance delivered door to door. Strict action has been taken against individuals illegally charging fees for health cards, with suspensions, license cancellations, and FIRs filed. Enrollment involves youth volunteers distributing tokens for citizens to obtain cards at designated centers with Aadhaar and voter ID.
