The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced candidates for the upcoming elections in Thane and Vasai-Virar municipal corporations. The party has finalized five candidates from Mumbra in Thane and three from Vasai-Virar, including professionals like doctors, aiming for candidates with local connections. AIMIM also plans to contest a seat in Taloja as part of its expansion strategy in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Elections for 29 civic bodies, including Thane and Vasai-Virar, are scheduled for January 15, with nominations closing on December 30.
