Odisha police conducted a large-scale crackdown on illegal cattle smuggling across five districts, seizing over Rs 1.40 crore in cash, gold, vehicles, and documents. The operation, part of the state government's 'Goraksha' campaign, involved 47 teams and aimed to dismantle organized smuggling networks. This intensified action follows recent violence against cattle traders, with officials emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy and stricter enforcement of the Orissa Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1960.
