External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that India's energy sourcing strategy focuses on diversification based on market conditions and international dynamics. India also noted its historical energy partnership with Venezuela but highlighted that sanctions have affected imports. Russia stated it has received no official communication from India about stopping oil purchases.
