A grand Ayodhya-style 'Bengali Ram' temple is planned in West Bengal's Nadia district, led by the Shri Krittibas Ram Mandir Trust since 2017. The temple aims to honor Bengal's cultural heritage, especially poet Krittibas Ojha, known for the Bengali Ramayana translation. The project, supported by local land donations and a Rs 100 crore fund, is described by BJP MLA and trust president Arindam Bhattacharya as a cultural initiative, not linked to elections or politics. This development follows the foundation of a Babri mosque replica in Murshidabad by a former TMC MLA.
