Mumbai Police Oppose Plea by UK Doctor Challenging FIR Over Social Media Posts

Mumbai Police have opposed a plea by UK-based Indian-origin doctor and YouTuber Sangram Patil, who challenges an FIR and Look Out Circular issued against him for allegedly posting defamatory and inflammatory content about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders. The police describe Patil's activities as part of a possible larger, organised effort to malign constitutional authority and disturb public order. Patil was detained at Mumbai airport on January 10 and prevented from leaving India while the investigation continues.
