Despite advisories from the forest department to restrict train speeds to 60 kmph, trains continue to pass through the Budhni-Midghat section in Madhya Pradesh at higher speeds, following the recent death of a tiger. Passenger trains are reportedly running up to 75 kmph and goods trains around 65 kmph. The railway division states trains operate between 50-75 kmph, citing geographical constraints, and has constructed underpasses and overpasses to mitigate wildlife incidents. Precautionary measures are also being implemented along the tracks.
