Groundbreaking of Rs 356 Crore Surat-Bharuch Coastal Highway Project Held

The Rs 356 crore coastal highway project connecting Hazira in Surat to Kantyajal in Bharuch was inaugurated in Olpad taluka, aiming to reduce travel distance from about 55 km to approximately 18-20 km. The four-lane highway will pass through several coastal villages and link with the Bhadbhut barrage project, enhancing connectivity and easing traffic on National Highway 48. Completion of the Surat to Hansot stretch is expected in around one-and-a-half years, with additional bridges planned to support the route.
