The Rajasthan Cabinet has approved the Rajasthan Vehicle Scrapping Policy-2025 (RVSP) to phase out unfit and polluting vehicles. The policy aims for scientific, safe, and environmentally friendly disposal of vehicles older than 15 years, those without fitness registration, or damaged vehicles. Owners will receive certificates for scrapping, potentially qualifying for a motor vehicle tax rebate of up to 50% on new vehicle purchases. The policy also promotes transparent, digital, and traceable scrapping processes integrated with the Vahan portal.
