The Assam government is exploring collaborations with Bhutan to boost medical tourism by facilitating treatment for Bhutanese patients in Assam hospitals. State Chief Secretary Ravi Kota discussed this and other bilateral issues, including cross-border connectivity, economic engagement, and people-to-people ties, with the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan. Discussions also covered the establishment of a Land Customs Station at Samrang, upgrading the Hatisar LCS, a proposed Special Economic Zone in Assam, and progress on the Bongaigaon-Gelephu railway line.
