Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched four new amphibious excavator machines to enhance desilting and cleaning of the Najafgarh and Pankha Road drains. These advanced machines, deployed by the Irrigation and Flood Control department, aim to remove over 10 million metric tonnes of silt, garbage, and water hyacinth, improving drainage capacity and reducing monsoon waterlogging. The government plans to procure more machines and conduct year-round desilting to support Yamuna river restoration efforts and address local infrastructure concerns.
