Ajay Singhal, a 1992-batch IPS officer, has been appointed the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Haryana, succeeding O.P. Singh who retired on December 31. Singhal's appointment follows a panel selection by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and he is set to serve a minimum two-year tenure. He previously served as Director General of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. Singhal has pledged to uphold integrity, strengthen law and order, and enhance police professionalism, addressing issues like cybercrime, narcotics, and corruption.
