A parliamentary panel on external affairs, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, has recommended that the government prepare a formal strategic document outlining India's foreign policy objectives and long-term approach. The panel noted the absence of such a comprehensive document as a significant gap for a country of India's global stature. The report also highlighted that while India's diplomatic priorities are expressed across various platforms, no single overarching strategy exists. Additionally, the panel urged prioritizing the introduction of the Overseas Mobility (Facilitation and Welfare) Bill, 2025.
