Ludhiana civil hospital will receive 12 security guards as part of a state-wide deployment of 200 personnel across district hospitals. Hired through Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO) and funded initially by the Emergency Response Fund, these guards aim to address safety concerns, crowd control, and protect staff and patients. The decision follows growing worries about security challenges at busy public hospitals, including unregulated entry and overcrowding, which can disrupt hospital functioning.
