A new political party, the Bangladesh Minority Janta Party (BMJP), has registered to contest 91 seats in Bangladesh's upcoming parliamentary elections. The party aims to mobilize Hindu and other minority voters, focusing on constituencies with significant minority vote shares. BMJP's president, Sukriti Kumar Mandal, stated the party seeks alliances with mainstream parties like BNP or Jamaat-e-Islami for minority safety and turnout, while indicating the ruling Awami League is not an option. The party also urged India to support the Hindu cause over backing the Awami League.
