The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has recommended targeted sanctions against India's Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Research and Analysis Wing (R AW) for alleged violations of religious freedom. The commission designated India as a "country of particular concern" citing deteriorating conditions for religious minorities, including anti-conversion laws and vigilante attacks. The Indian government has dismissed these findings as biased and politically motivated. The USCIRF's recommendations are advisory and not binding on the US administration.
