
Chief of Defence Forces and Army chief Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to review security and operational readiness. He described the alleged use of Afghan soil by terrorists against Pakistan as "unacceptable" and stated that all necessary measures would be taken to counter threats from across the border. The visit followed Pakistan's launch of Operation Ghazab lil Haq after reported Afghan Taliban attacks on multiple border locations. Munir emphasized that peace depends on the Afghan Taliban renouncing support for terrorism.
