The sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha, originating from Gujarat's archaeological site, are on their first international exposition at Colombo's Gangaramaya Temple from February 4 to 11, 2026. The relics, previously preserved at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, were brought to Sri Lanka following discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. A high-level Indian delegation led by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat accompanied the relics, which are open for public veneration, symbolizing deep civilisational and spiritual ties between India and Sri Lanka.
