Indian Railways and Army Collaborate to Employ Ex-Servicemen as Pointsmen

Indian Railways and the Indian Army have established a 'Framework of Cooperation' to facilitate post-retirement employment for ex-servicemen, including Agniveers, as pointsmen on a contract basis. Nine railway divisions have signed MoUs with Army organizations to expedite hiring, addressing vacancies until regular recruitment is completed. This collaboration leverages shared skills and discipline, supporting strategic infrastructure projects like the Dedicated Freight Corridors and Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, enhancing logistics and troop movement.
