The Andhra Pradesh Nursing Homes Association (APNA) has requested the government to relax regulations for establishing hospitals in rural areas. APNA's Vizianagaram district president, B. Mahendra Giri, suggested extending the NTR Vaidyaseva (Aarogyasri) scheme to 20-bedded hospitals and single departments like gynecology and orthopedics, not just ophthalmology. He also proposed revising bio-waste collection fees based on quantity rather than bed count to improve rural healthcare accessibility.
