Assam's draft electoral rolls have been released ahead of elections, with over 10.56 lakh names deleted following a statewide verification drive. Deletions were primarily due to voter deaths (4.78 lakh) and shifts in address (5.23 lakh). Additionally, 53,619 entries with similar demographic details were flagged for review. The current draft lists 2.51 crore electors, excluding 'D-Voters' whose citizenship is under scrutiny. The revision saw a 1.35% increase in the electorate.
