Two northeastern Assam towns, Bijni and Maibang, have secured new express train stoppages following long-standing local demands. Bijni Railway Station will now see halts by Kamrup Express, Tambaram Express, and North East Express, while Maibang station will host the Kanchenjunga Express and Tejas Express. These additions aim to enhance regional connectivity, benefiting commuters, traders, and students. Local organizations, political leaders, and railway officials played key roles in achieving these improvements, with further infrastructure developments planned at Maibang.
