
Assam's Biswanath district administration cleared over 87 acres of grazing land on December 28th. The eviction drive, involving bulldozers and excavators, targeted 367 households illegally occupying Village Grazing Reserve land. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the action, stating it frees land from encroachers threatening Assam's culture and demography. Three leaders of the All Assam Minority Students' Union were arrested on suspicion of inciting tension at the eviction site.
