Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav reported a five-fold increase in cross-border arms smuggling into the state, primarily via drones from Pakistan, since May. He stated that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is using these weapons, including Glock pistols, and organized crime networks to destabilize Punjab and project it as a disturbed state. The DGP also noted a rise in grenade attacks, which he attributed to ISI-backed foreign conduits, and confirmed police efforts with central agencies to thwart these attempts.
