Iran is preparing to bury its late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Mashhad, his birthplace and home to the revered Imam Reza shrine. A three-day public farewell ceremony is underway in Tehran at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla, but the state funeral has been postponed due to expected large crowds. Khamenei, who led Iran for 36 years, was killed in joint US-Israeli strikes. Reports suggest his son Mojtaba may succeed him, though no official announcement has been made.
