France has postponed its ban on single-use plastic cups until January 1, 2030, citing difficulties in finding suitable alternatives. The Ministry for Ecological Transition stated that a review of technical feasibility justified the delay, with a further assessment planned for 2028. This decision follows earlier bans on other single-use plastics, such as bags, as part of a broader 2020 law aiming to eliminate all such items by 2040. Despite progress, some companies continue to violate existing regulations on single-use plastics.
