AIADMK Alleges Rise in Drug Trafficking and Crime in Tamil Nadu, Plans Protests

AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami has accused the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu of turning the state into a hub for drug trafficking, illicit liquor sales, and rising crime since 2021. He highlighted concerns over widespread ganja availability, drug use among students, increasing sexual assaults, and alleged custodial deaths. The AIADMK-led NDA announced statewide protests on March 17 to demand action on law and order ahead of the April elections. The DMK has dismissed these claims, citing data showing a decline in crime rates.
