Ahead of the BMC elections, the Marathi Abhyas Kendra has released a document urging voters to prioritize Marathi candidates who promote the language, culture, and schools. The document calls for preferential use of Marathi in public spaces, official work, and signage, and suggests the mayor should be Marathi. It also requests that civic bodies not provide equal infrastructure for non-Marathi festivals and advocates for greater representation of Marathi people in jobs and business.
