Kerala's Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) registered 818 corruption-related cases over five years, including 232 trap cases where officials were caught accepting bribes, the highest in its history. In 2025, 57 trap cases were recorded, with a notable bribe seizure of Rs 15 lakh from a panchayat overseer. The bureau conducted extensive investigations, surprise inspections, and handled over 67,000 complaints. To expedite trials, a new Vigilance court was established in Kollam, and digital tools like a Cyber Forensic Lab were introduced to enhance investigations.
