In 2026, Madhya Pradesh police will see 16 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). This significant increase in promotions is due to the central government sanctioning five Special Duty Posts and six DIG posts, replacing vacant Inspector General posts. Officers from the 2010, 2011, and 2012 batches will benefit, with 13 promotions scheduled for January 1 and three more later in the year as senior officers retire.
