Serbia has confirmed purchasing Chinese CM-400AKG supersonic air-to-surface ballistic missiles, adapting its MiG-29 jets to carry them. President Aleksandar Vucic acknowledged acquiring a significant number of these missiles at a "slight discount" after photos leaked online. The missile, with a range of up to 400 km, was first used in the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict. Croatia criticized the purchase as destabilizing for the Balkans. Serbia has also invested in other Chinese and Western military equipment, allocating about 2.6% of its GDP to defense this year.
