Maharashtra Govt to Delay 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' Installment Due to Election Code

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the January installment of the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' will not be disbursed early due to State Election Commission (SEC) directives amid ongoing civic poll regulations. The monthly assistance of ₹1,500, typically advanced during festivals, will now be credited after January 16, coinciding with the vote counting for 29 municipal corporations. This decision follows complaints and media reports suggesting a double installment as a pre-election benefit, which the opposition criticized as an attempt to influence voters.
