The Bihar government plans to revive old sugar mills as part of its "Saat Nischay" program. Cooperative Minister Pramod Kumar announced that two mills, Sakri in Madhubani and Raiyam in Darbhanga, will be run by the Cooperative department. Preparations are underway, including forming cooperative committees and preparing detailed project reports, following a high-level committee decision. The department is also involved in paddy procurement, having purchased over 9.53 lakh metric tonnes from 1.32 lakh farmers.
